Die photo::vienna wurde von Mirjam Angerer-Geier und Felix Leutner als Plattform für Fotografie gegründet und hat von 2014-2017 die österreichische Fotografie Szene als Impulsgeber geprägt. Wir danken allen die daran beteiligt waren und dies möglich gemacht haben.
photo::vienna was founded by Mirjam Angerer-Geier and Felix Leutner as a platform for photography and has shaped the Austrian photography scene as a source of inspiration from 2014-2017. We thank all who participated and made this possible.
NEUE SICHTWEISEN DER FOTOGRAFIE
Fotografie ist eine der jüngsten und gleichzeitig spannendsten Kunstformen. Die Fotografie als eine Form der Bildsprache, als Anziehungskraft der scheinbar gegensätzlichen Pole Voyeurismus und Exhibitionismus. Sie erzeugt und hinterlässt Emotionen, bewegt, verstört, ist anziehend. Mit ihren intensiven Stimmungen wirkt Fotografie inspirierend, anregend und sorgt auch für kritische Betrachtungsweisen.
Kunstfotografie, Architektur-, Portrait-, sowie Werbe-, Editorial- und Reportagefotografie wurden bei dem Event photo::vienna unter dem vereinenden Überbegriff der „angewandten Fotografie“ zusammengefasst. Als Schaufenster für eine breite Öffentlichkeit und gleichzeitig als Forum für Profis, auf der Suche nach neuen Trends und Entwicklungen.
SENSIBLE SEHGEWOHNHEITEN SCHÄRFEN
Als erste Werkschau für aktuelle Fotografie aus Österreich gab die photo::vienna einen breit gefächerten Überblick über spannende Bereiche der Fotografie und damit ein interessantes Angebot für GaleristInnen, KuratorInnen, Museums-GestalterInnen, KunstsammlerInnen, Art Directors in Agenturen, BildredakteurInnen etc. Gleichzeitig wurde mit dieser Plattform einen Ort zum Interessens- und Gedankenaustausch für die große Gemeinschaft aller Foto-Fans geboten.
Um die fotografische Qualität auf der photo::vienna zu gewährleisten, wurde von einer ausgewählten Jury auf das Niveau der präsentierten Arbeiten geachtet.
NEW PERSPECTIVES ON PHOTOGRAPHY
Photography is one of the youngest and simultaneously most exciting art forms: a pictorial language that draws on the tension between the two seemingly opposing poles of voyeurism and exhibitionism. It produces and leaves behind emotions; it moves, unsettles, and attracts. With its intense atmosphere, photography inspires, stimulates, and opens the way for critical dialogue.
At the event photo::vienna art photography, architecture and portrait photography as well as advertising, editorial, and journalistic photography all have been shown under the banner of “applied photography.” The event thus served as a showcase for the general public and as a forum for professionals on the lookout for new trends and developments.
SHARPENING VISUAL SENSITIVITIES
As the first showcase for contemporary photography from Austria, photo::vienna presented a broad overview of what makes photography so exciting and is thus be of great interest to galerists, curators, collectors, art buyers, agency art directors, photo editors, etc. This platform also provided a place for the exchange of interest and ideas among the wider community of photography fans.
A select jury ensured the high level of photographic excellence shown at photo::vienna.
